‘Shami is a world class bowler’, Temba Bavuma praises fast bowler

Centurion: The Indian cricket team scored 327 runs in the first innings on the third day of the Boxing Day Test against South Africa. At the same time, the Indian bowlers left no stone unturned to destroy South Africa’s first innings at just 197. Barring Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock, none of the Proteas batsmen dared to face the Indian bowlers. Bavuma scored 52 while de Kock scored 34 runs. Mohammed Shami took five wickets and also took his 200th wicket in Test cricket. During the press conference at the end of the third day, Bavuma praised Shami’s bowling. He said that the Indian bowlers were able to take advantage of the conditions in South Africa.

Bavuma said, “Shami is a world class bowler, we have seen him do it all over the world so I don’t think it is something we didn’t expect. Have to go back. If he bowls a good ball, credit goes to him. The Indian bowlers have been able to take advantage of the conditions, especially under Shami.”

Bavuma also pointed out that not playing Test matches for a while has also had a huge impact on South Africa in this game. The Proteas played a total of five matches before coming into this match and their last match was against West Indies in June 2021. Bavuma said, “I don’t want to be accused of making excuses for our game, but not playing Test cricket for a while has an impact. If you look at the way we played on day one, I don’t Looks like our team performs like this. And one of the reasons is the lack of match practice. You can have as many nets as you want, but there’s nothing like going out in the middle. There’s not much we can do as players. But there is this disparity in the number of games. We have to mentally find a way to face the challenge.”
